Will is aware of his body in a pragmatic way. It's something he takes care of because it serves him. That he feeds. That he lets sleep. That he exercises. His body is his body, but thinking of himself as anything more, as an object to admire, is impossible for him.
(He is ugly. He is bland. He is a mediocre version of an omega, so failed).
The love Hannibal feels for him is real. It's perhaps one of the most real emotions Hannibal can feel, Will knows, he knows his monster well. The night that Will Graham turns up at Dr. Lecter’s home in Baltimore with a gun pressed into the back of Dr. Abel Gideon, Hannibal has a change of heart. He finds that he is no longer able to go through with the plan of framing Will as the copycat killer as he has no wish to part with him any time soon.
Will never leaves Hannibal’s home that night to prevent Gideon from attempting to kill Dr. Alana Bloom and Hannibal does not immediately get the chance to consult Gideon about stealing his identity as the Chesapeake Ripper. With Hannibal too preoccupied dealing with Will, Gideon has the chance to leave without the conversation between Lecter and himself ever taking place.
Canon compliant until near the end of S1 E11 titled “Rôti”.

Will knows he's in for it when he gets home. For a very brief moment, he considers not going home at all. He knows Hannibal is going to be mad. He thinks about telling Hannibal he's working late, or that he decided not to drive home. He'd probably get away with it too, if Hannibal is willing to believe that it's in character for Will to choose not to drive home in the dead of night out of some fear for his safety.
The odds of that aren't high, though. Hannibal knows Will better than anyone, that's one of the things that makes him so damn annoying sometimes.
